Day 9: Go sightseeing to York/9日目：ヨークへ

I had planned to go York by train at about 9 or 10. I was checked out a hotel before 9am, and call a taxi to Piccadilly Station to the hotel staff. The taxi came at about 10 minutes. I arrived at the station at 9:20. I kept my luggage at a baggage storage first, I took a train to York at 9:57am.
9時台か10時台の列車でヨークへ行く予定を立てていたので9時前にホテルをチェックアウトしホテルスタッフにタクシーを呼んでもらってピカデリー駅へ。10分ほどしてタクシーが来ました。9時20分ごろ駅に到着し荷物を手荷物保管所に預けてから9時57分発の列車でヨークへ。

The train arrives at York at 11:22am.
列車は午前11時22分にヨークに着きました。

I took a taxi to Clifford's Tower. The taxi driver is so friendly and talkative. He told me recommended tourist attractions of himself, the tower, Jorvic Viking Museum, York Minster and a boat cruising on River Ouse.
タクシーでヨーク城（クリフォーズ・タワー）へ。タクシーの運転士はとても親切でおしゃべり好きだったので彼自身のおすすめ観光地（ヨーク城、ジョルビク・バイキング・ミュージアム、ヨーク大聖堂、ウーズ川の遊覧船）を教えてくれました。

I said goodbye to him, I came into Clifford's Tower. It's standing on the small mound, this place is deeply associated with the Battle of Hastings on 14 October 1066.
彼に別れを告げてヨーク城の中へ。小高い丘の上に立っているこの城は1066年10月14日のヘースティングズの戦い（Battle of Hastings）と関係が深いところです。

From top of the tower, you can see the York Minster clearly.
城の最上階からヨーク大聖堂が見渡せます。

After a few minutes to walk, I arrived at Jorvic Viking Museum. Here, you can see the upbringing of Vikings from the Nordic in the middle ages.
数分ほど歩くとジョルビク・バイキング・ミュージアムに着きました。ここは中世時代に北欧から渡ってきたバイキングのおいたちを知ることができます。

I had a lunch at a kebab food vendor in Shambles. After lunch, I visited to York Minster.
シャンブルズ（Shambles）にあるケバブ屋台で昼食を取ってからヨーク大聖堂へ。

After the visit, I headed off to Museum Gardens through the Stonegate street where the old town remains.
訪問後古い町並みが残るストーン・ゲート通りを通ってミュージアム・ガーデンズへ。

A view of the opposite side from Lendal Bridge over the River Ouse. I think it's the best scenic spot in York; the towered York Minster in the center picture, and Guildhall foreground.
ウーズ川に架かるレンダル橋から反対側の眺めです。中央にはヨーク大聖堂が、手前にはギルドホールが見えます。ここはヨークで風光明媚な場所だと思います。

I arrived at the station around 3pm, way back to Manchester by train at 3:26pm. I was standing all the way because it was full. After coming back to Manchester Piccadilly at 5pm,  I picked up my luggage, and take the Virgin train service to London Euston at 5:55pm. The train arrives at London after 8pm. After arrival, I arranged for a return ticket from Paddington to Bath tomorrow at the ticket window. Later, I took a taxi to Hotel Ibis Excel London Docklands for 5 nights.
3時ごろ駅に戻って15時26分発の列車でマンチェスターまで戻りました。満員だったのでずっと立ちぱなっしでした。5時ごろマンチェスター・ピカデリーに戻ってきて荷物を受け取り17時55分発のバージン・トレインでロンドン・ユーストンへ。ロンドンには8時過ぎに到着。到着後駅窓口で翌日のパディントンからバースまでの往復チケットを手配してもらい残り5日間の宿泊地であるホテル・イビス・エクセル・ロンドン・ドックランズまでタクシーで向かいました。
