Visiting Kumamoto Castle after the earthquakes

In the evening, we had decided to take a drive to see the situation after the quakes at Kumamoto Castle. It's a lovely evening, we saw some tourists from Japan and abroad. Like us, they want to see "What has become of the broken castle in after one year".

Let's take a tour from Ninomaru Park.

The keep tower is still standing even after the castle stone broke and tiles fail off.
The main tower rebuild work will be done in 2019.
The small tower soon to be rebuilt.
Not only the castle, but also the stone wall still has collapsed.
It's such a wall falls like this... I understand the magnitude of the earthquake.

Visiting Mount Aso after eruption

After seeing Aso Shrine, we wanted to go to the place where the Mount Nakadake is visible. We know the best place called Kusasenri (草千里) in Aso, so we had decided to go there.

From here, a view of the Mount Nakadake crater is clearly visible. Now the eruption fire is gone, but the ground is covered with white ash.
Kusasenri.

Visiting to Aso Shrine, Kumamoto

On June 5, we had decided to take a drive to see the situation after the quakes at Aso Shrine (阿蘇神社 -jinja), a Shinto shrine in Aso, Kumamoto. The shrine was heavily damaged in the Kumamoto earthquakes last year. The shrine's rōmon (tower gate), officially classified as an Important Cultural Property by the Japanese government, and the haiden (worshiping hall) both completely collapsed.

When we arrived there at about 2 p.m, it was so crowded because they want to see "What has become of the area struck in after one year". So I don't want to go inside and only took pictures of romon. According to some Japanese press and bloggers, the shrine need to be rebuilt within ten years. I wish for their fast recovery.
Demolition work for restoration is being done now.
