Day 8: Stay in Windermere/8日目：ウインダミア滞在記

I had a brunch at 9:30, I took both ferry and bus to Near Sawrey and Hawkshead. It is the place where famed for Beatrix Potter, the author of Peter Rabbit. I took a small boat from Bowness on Windermere Ferry Terminal to Far Sawrey Windermere Ferry Terminal. Then, I found the bus to Hill Top. But I don't know where the bus stop is. I missed the bus, I decided to walk to Hill Top. It is a 40 minute walk from the ferry terminal.
9時30分にブランチを食べてフェリーとバスでピーターラビットの作者ビアトリス・ポッターゆかりの地ニア・ソウリーとホークスヘッドに行きました。ウィンダミアフェリーターミナルから小さい船に乗ってファー・ソウリーウィンダミアフェリーターミナルへ。その後バスでヒルトップまで行くつもりだったんですがバス停が分からなくてバスに乗れず歩いてヒルトップへ。フェリーターミナルから40分ほどです。

I visited the Hill Top cottage. It is worth to visit if you're interested in Beatrix Potter's everyday life.

Idyllic countryside spreads in front of your eyes.
目の前にはのどかな田園風景が広がります。

After leaving Near Sawrey,  I headed off to Hawkshead by bus. The Esthwaite Water can be seen on the left from a bus on the way.
ニア・ソウリーを後にしてバスでホークスヘッドに。途中車窓左手にはエスウエイトウオーターが見えます。

I visited to Beatrix Potter gallery and hanged out the alleyway. There are some cafés and inns around the way. It makes me hungry, so I went into the café near here to order a hot sandwich. It's so yummy.
ベアトリス・ポッターギャラリーを訪れて近くをぶらぶらしました。路地にはいくつかのカフェと小さなホテルがあります。腹が減ってきたので近くのカフェに入ってホットサンドイッチを注文。味はなかなかでした。

 After lunch, I visited to Hawkshead Grammar School and St Michael and All Angels Church standing on the hill, the opposite side of bus stop.
昼食後バス停反対側の丘にそびえ立つホークスヘッド・グラマースクールとセント・ミカエル教会を訪れました。

At 2pm, I came back to Far Sawrey Windermere Ferry Terminal by bus, then took a ferry to Bowness on Windermere.  One hour later, pick up my luggage at the hotel, call a taxi to Windermere Station. I want to go to Manchester by train at 4pm. But the staff gave me three tickets, Windermere-Oxenholme-Lancaster-Manchester Piccadilly. It means I must change a train twice to Manchester. Which train did I took? I took an all stop service from Windermere to Oxenholme, the Virgin Train service from Oxenholme to Lancaster, and an express service from Lancaster to Manchester Piccadilly. I arrived at Manchester Piccadilly at 6pm. After arrival, I booked the Virgin Train service to London Euston at 5:55pm at the ticket window and asked the train time to York tomorrow at the booth. After that, I took a taxi to Jurys Inn Manchester.
2時のバスでファー・ソウリーウィンダミアターミナルまで戻ってフェリーでボウネス・オン・ウィンダミアまで出ました。1時間後ホテルで荷物を引き取ってからタクシーを呼んでもらいウィンダミア駅まで向かいました。4時の列車でマンチェスターまで行きたかったのですが駅員がウィンダミアーオクセンホルムーランカスターーマンチェスター・ピカデリーとチケットを3枚くれたので途中2回列車を乗り換えなければなりませんでした。乗った列車はウィンダミアーオクセンホルム間は各駅停車、オクセンホルムーランカスター間はバージン・トレインでランカスターーマンチェスター・ピカデリー間は急行でした。マンチェスター・ピカデリーには6時に到着。到着後窓口で翌日17時55分発ロンドン・ユーストン行きバージン・トレインを予約し案内所でヨーク行きの列車時刻を尋ねました。その後タクシーで宿泊先であるジュリーズイン・マンチェスターへ。
