Visiting Hesaki Lighthouse, Kitakyushu

Last Saturday we had decided to take a drive🚙 to Hesaki Lighthouse (部埼灯台 -Hesaki Todai)⛯ in Moji-ku, Kitakyushu. According to Wikipedia, it was constructed in December 1870; and the lighthouse was lit on January 22, 1871. It was one of the lighthouses designated by Richard Henry Brunton, who was hired by the government of Japan to help construct lighthouses to make costal waters safe for foreign ships to approach, after Japan opened up to the West.

We parked a car in the parking lot and go up the stairs to the lighthouse.

When we went up the stairs, we met the beautiful lighthouse🚢
