After checking out a hotel, I headed off to Windermere by train. Note that there are no direct train service to Windermere from Edinburgh, Manchester, London etc., you must
change a train
at Oxenholme.
ホテルをチェックアウト後列車でウィンダミアまで向かいました。なおエジンバラ、マンチェスター、ロンドンなどからウィンダミア行き直通列車はありませんので必ずオクセンホルム駅で乗り換えなければなりません。
I had exchanged to the British Rail Pass at Waverley Station yesterday, so I got only two tickets to Windermere. I took a train to bound for Manchester Airport at 10:10am to Oxenholme. It takes about 2 hours. From there, I took a 15 minute train ride to Windermere.
前日ウェイバリー駅にて英国の鉄道パスに引き換えてもらったのでウィンダミア行きのチケット2枚だけもらい午前10時10分発のマンチェスター空港行き列車に乗ってオクセンホルムへ。所要時間はおよそ2時間。そこから15分ほどでウインダミアに着きます。
After arrival, I went to Lonsdale House Hotel to keep my luggage at the front desk. After that, I visited to the World of Beatrix Potter museum near the hotel. Here, it has a variety of exhibits on work and Beatrice Potter, the author of Peter Rabbit.
到着後ロンズデールハウスホテルのフロントで荷物を預けてもらってからホテル近くのザ・ワールド・オブ・ビアトリス・ポッター博物館へ。ここはピーターラビットの作者ビアトリス・ポッターと作品に関するさまざまな展示がされています。
I bought two Peter Rabbit teas for my souvenir; English Breakfast and Darjeeling. Then, I walked to Bowness on Windermere Ferry Terminal to take a ferry service to Ambleside. I was able to enjoy the scenery and varied from a ship.
お土産にイングリッシュ・ブレックファーストとダージリン2種類のピーターラビット紅茶を購入。その後歩いてアンブルサイド行きフェリーが発着するボウネス・オン・ウインダミアフェリー・ターミナルへ。船の中から変化に富んだ風景を満喫できました。
When you'll see the Waterhead Hotel, the one hour ferry cruise will end.ウオーターヘッドホテルが見えてくると1時間の船旅が終了します。
After getting off from the ferry, I walked the town center of Ambleside about two hours. It's lovely! I went back to Windermere by ferry at 6:30.
フェリーから降りてアンブルサイドの町を2時間ほど歩いてみました。とても可愛らしかったです。6時30分にフェリーでウィンダミアへ戻りました。

After dinner, I went to the Belsfield Hotel to see the sunset. From here, you can see the great view of Bowness Bay spread before your eyes.
夕食後ベルス・フィルードホテルに行って日没を見ました。ここから目の前に広がるボウネス湾のすばらしい光景を一望できます。
