Kitakyushu panorama from Mount Sarakura

First, we climbed Mount Sarakura (皿倉山) by car. The road is open to the public, so we can go up to the top of the mountain. Parking a car at the visitor center near the peak, we walked very steep footpaths approaching to the top.

I took many panorama views in Kitakyushu from an observation platform. This place is a famous for a magnificent view of the city. It is considered one of Japan's top 100 night view spots.

A view of Yahatahigashi and Tobata Wards. The most part of this area facing the inlet sea, called Dokai Bay is occupied by Nippon Steel Yahata plants. The red-light Wakato Bridge that connects between Wakamatsu and Tobata Wards. The bridge was first opened in September 1962. This was the beginning of long-span bridges in Japan; it was the largest suspension bridge in Asia at that time.

Taking a close-up view of the Kurosaki Station on JR Kagoshima Line. As a hub of rail transportation, the station is served by two JR lines, the Kagoshima Main Line and Chikuho Main Line, commonly known as the Fuku-Yutaka Line and the Chikuho Electric Railroad Line to Nogata.
