Day 6:Strolling around Taipei/6

On this day, I went for a trip around Taipei somewhere I've never been before.

First, I took a taxi to a Taoist temple located in the center of Duhua Street. The street is famous as a wholesale district lined with some grocery stores such as roe, tea leaves, dried fruit etc..
A brick wholesale in front of a Taoist temple. It has been sold Taiwanese specialties such as roe, shark's fin, dried fruit, herbal medicine etc.. in the crowded pile up.

After leaving the wholesale district, I was looking for a bus to Baoan Temple. The bus stop is located in the Yanping North Road, so I took a short walk to there. The bus came at about 15 minutes.

The construction work of the temple was started in 1805, and was completed over the 25 years. It is dedicated to Emperor Baosheng, the god of medicine. Many people visited to wish good health even from a distant place, that's why it has always been crowded there.
Next, I went into the Confucius Temple in the opposite of the road. It's the head temple of Confucianism in Taiwan which is built in 1930.

Before taking a MRT train from Yunshan to the Red House in Ximen, I stopped at a nearby Japanese style Rinzai Zen temple, called Linji Huguo. It was built in 1901 as a Taipei branch of the Renzai sect Myoshinji school.
The main hall was completed in 1912. It's quite simple wooden building, I feel very nostalgic.
Then I took a MRT train to Ximen. Since there's no direct train services to Ximen, I have to transfer to Bannan Line at Taipei Main Station. After getting off from a train, I visited to the Red House. It was opened as a public market in 1908. The appearance of octagonal red brick is very deep and impressive, it has undergone a transformation into a theater now.
On the first floor of the cultural exhibition area, it has been made an exhibition about the people culture along the theme of each season. In that corner, there is also a display that reproduces the ticket office of a movie theater. An old retro design poster will be reminiscent of the era, which has been used as a cinema.
I had a small coffee break at a cafe right next to the cultural exhibition area. After that I took a metro to Taipei 101 observatory where is my next destination.
