Visiting Heiwadai Park, Miyazaki

On the second day, we went to some sightseeing spots such as Shiroyama Viewpoint in Kagoshima.

First we went to Heiwadai Park in Miyazaki city. The city park is located on a hill at an altitude of 60 meters, with seasonal flowers and greens in the park. 

We parked a car in the first parking lot in front of the lawn. We walked for a few minutes and came to the Heiwadai (平和台) Tower. The word Heiwa (平和) means peaceful in Japanese. The Tower of peace, also known as the Hakko ichu monument, was completed in November 1940. 

There is an observatory on the top floor where you can see the best view of the city and the Pacific Ocean.

After that we went to the Haniwa Garden next to the Heiwadai Tower. 

Going down the stairs, we finally got to see Haniwa clay figures. 

A collection of warrior figures in the garden. More than 400 burial statues from all over Japan are on display.

Plane spotting at Fukuoka Airport on 27 November 2020/2020年11月27日福岡空港の飛行機たち

Today I went to the airport in the afternoon. I only stayed for an hour, but I was lucky to see some international airlines such as a Cathay Pacific flight from Hong Kong and a Philippine Airlines flight to Manila.

今日の午後は飛行機を見に行きました。午後3時ごろから1時間ほどしかいなかったのですが、キャセイパシフィック航空の香港発貨物便やフィリピン航空のマニラ行きなどが来ていました。

At 3:05 pm, a Cathay Pacific flight CX588 from Hong Kong was landing on Rwy 34. 

午後3時05分にキャセイパシフィック航空の香港発CX588便が滑走路34に着陸。

As an aside, when I surf the Japanese portal website yesterday, Hong Kong Airlines, the second largest airline in Hong Kong, was flying to Fukuoka as a cargo plane! I've never seen it before😄 I think they want to go someday maybe after the corona😁

余談ですが昨日ネットを見るとこの日キャセイのライバル会社香港航空（HX）が貨物便として飛来していたようです。もしかしてHXもコロナ終息後FUKに飛来してくるのではないかと予感します😁

At 3:57 pm, a Philippine Airline flight PR425 to Manila was taking off. The airline decided to resume a flight to Fukuoka three times a week from July 5.

午後3時57分にフィリピン航空のマニラ行きPR425便が離陸。去る7月5日から週3便で運航再開しています。

There's no landing planes at this time, the plane was taking off quickly.

この時間帯は到着機がなかったので飛行機はすぐに離陸しました。

Plane spotting at Fukuoka Airport on 23 November 2020/2020年11月23日福岡空港の飛行機たち

On Monday, I went to the airport in the morning. You already know that Korean Air bought Asiana Airlines on the other day. According to the media, two companies will be merged and make a large company like Delta, the Lufthansa group etc.. I was very surprised to hear the news that Asiana will be gone soon😟 

月曜日（23日）は飛行機を見に行きました。この日はアシアナ航空のOZ132/131便が仁川から来る情報をネットで知ったので、朝10時過ぎに家を出て早速空港へ。つい先日大韓航空のアシアナ買収が決まりましたが、経営統合ではなく吸収合併とのこと。昨年春の売却発表からもしかしてと思いましたが、新型コロナウイルスの影響でまさかそのようになるとは思ってもいませんでした。

I was lucky to see the Rakuten Eagles jet of IBEX Airlines. The aircraft registration number JA07RJ is a special livery which is collaborated with Tohoku Rakuten Golden Eagles, a Japanese professional baseball club based in Sendai.

たまたまアイベックス航空の楽天イーグルスジェット（機体番号：JA07RJ）が飛来しているのを見かけあわててシャッターを切りました。

At 12:29 pm, a Japan Airlines flight JL312 to Tokyo Haneda was taking off on Rwy 34. Aircraft registration number JA06XJ is currently in use since the fuselage was received from Airbus in May.

午後12時29分に日本航空（JAL）の東京羽田行きJL312便が滑走路34から離陸。機体番号はJA06XJでした。当機はJALが受領したエアバスa350-900型機（359）の6機目で今年5月に納入されたばかりです。

A Solaseed Air flight 6J98 from Okinawa Naha was landing in 9 minutes. The airline, formerly known as Skynet Asia Airways, is operating daily flights between Fukuoka and Okinawa since this March.

9分後にソラシドエア の沖縄那覇発6J98便が着陸。同社は今年3月29日から福岡ー那覇線を1日1便で就航しています。

At 1:29 pm, an ANA flight NH252 to Tokyo Haneda was taking off. The airline announced that it will sell 30 unit of Boeing airplanes such as the 777 family for cost reduction due to the coronavirus.

午後1時29分に全日空の東京羽田行きNH252便が離陸。機体番号はJA705Aでした。当機はANAが受領したボーイング777-200型機（B7）の5機目ですが、新型コロナウイルスの影響による事業再編で初期に納入された4機（701ー704A）が退役済みなのでこのようにして見られる日もそんなに長くないと思います。

At 2:01 pm, an Asiana Airlines flight OZ131 to Seoul Incheon was taking off. The flight was delayed by two hours and half, but I don't know why.

午後2時01分にアシアナ航空のソウル仁川行きOZ131便が離陸。この日は予定より2時間半遅れで出発していました。

There's no landing planes at this time, the plane was taking off quickly.

この時間帯は到着機がなかったので飛行機はすぐに離陸しました。

Views from ANA Holiday Inn Resort Miyazaki

After visiting Aoshima Island, we headed to the ANA Holiday Inn Resort Miyazaki. We just stay for one night and booked on Rakuten Travel at cheapest price, ¥12300 per person per night with two meals. They offer us a special discount because of Go to travel campaign so we can get a cheap hotel rate at a half price😁 There aren't many kind of foods available due to the coronavirus, but we enjoyed very much😐 

We stayed in the room with a view of Aoshima Island. The room is enough specious for us.

Visiting Aoshima Island, Miyazaki

In the evening, we went to Aoshima (青島) Island. Aoshima is an island located in Miyazaki city. According to the Wikipedia, the island has a surface area of 4.4 hectares and a height of 6 meters. And the whole island is a part of the Aoshima Shinto Shrine.   

We parked a car near the Aoshima railway station and start walking.

After passing through the shopping street, you'll see a bridge that connects the mainland Kyushu to Aoshima Island.

A day at FUK on 12 November 2020, part 2/2020年11月12日福岡空港での飛行機たち（その2）

After having lunch, I went back to the usual spot near the end of Rwy 16. I was keep going to take pictures of planes takeoff and landing until the sunset.

昼食後いつもの撮影スポットである滑走路16エンドに戻って日が暮れるまで撮影しました。

At 2:54 pm, a Cathay Pacific flight CX588 from Hong Kong was taxiing after landing. The airline was suspended the service in three years ago. But due to the company liquidation of Cathay Dragon, they decided to take over the route, and came back to Fukuoka on a cargo flight.

午後2時54分にキャセイパシフィック航空の香港発CX588便が滑走路16に着陸後タキシング中。去る10月のキャセイドラゴン航空の清算で親会社であるキャセイパシフィック航空が路線を引き継ぎ、今月5日から貨物便として運航再開しています。

At 3:54 pm, an ANA flight NH257 from Tokyo Haneda was taxiing after landing. They put the latest model of Airbus a321 family, the neo series, into its domestic flights from September 2017.

午後3時54分に全日空の東京羽田発NH257便が着陸後滑走路を走行中。ANAは2017年9月からエアバスa321ファミリーである最新鋭のneoシリーズを国内線に投入しています。

A Cathay Pacific flight CX589 to Hong Kong was taking off in five minutes.

5分後キャセイパシフィック航空のCX589便香港行きが離陸。

At 4:40 pm, a China Airlines flight CI116 from Taipei was taxiing after landing. The airline decided to resume a flight to Fukuoka once a week on September 3.

午後4時40分にチャイナエアライン（中華航空）の台北発CI116便が着陸後滑走路を走行中。9月3日から旅客便の運航を週1便で再開しています。

A day at FUK on 12 November 2020, part 1/2020年11月12日福岡空港での飛行機たち（その1）

On November 12, I went to the airport to see planes takeoff and landing. Due to the effect of new coronavirus known as COVID-19, there were almost no international flights except cargo from Taipei. However, some airlines such as Philippine Airlines, China Airlines have already resume their passenger flights from this summer.  

先週の木曜日（12日）は飛行機を見に行きました。新型コロナウイルスの影響で国際線は貨物便以外運休となっていましたが、去る7月5日からフィリピン航空のマニラ便が旅客便として運航再開。その後9月から台湾系2社チャイナエアライン（中華航空）とエバー航空が、さらに今月5日からシンガポール航空が再開しています。

At 10:44 am, a Singapore Airlines flight SQ655 to Singapore was taking off on Rwy 16. The airline decided to resume a flight to Fukuoka once a week from November 5. 

午前10時44分にシンガポール航空のSQ655便シンガポール行きが滑走路16から離陸。今月5日から旅客便の運航を週1便で再開しています。

At 10:51 am, an EVA Air flight BR106 from Taipei was taxiing after landing. The aircraft registration number B-16336 was used for flight of the day. It's one of the old painted plane which is rarely seen at Fukuoka Airport😁

午前10時51分にエバー航空の台北発BR106便が着陸後滑走路を走行中。機体番号はB-16336でした。BRのA330-300旧塗装機はまれにしか飛来してこないようで見られてとてもラッキーでした😊

A China Airlines flight CI111 to Taipei was taking off in one minute.

1分後チャイナエアラインの台北行きCI111便が離陸。

At 12:02 pm, an EVA Air flight BR105 to Taipei was taking off.

午後12時02分にエバー航空の台北行きBR105便が離陸。

After that I had a wonderful lunch set at Fukurin-rou (福林楼) Chinese restaurant near Hakata Station, then I came back again. I was lucky to see a cargo flight of Cathay Pacific from Hong Kong. They were flying back to Fukuoka since this month. She's now cargo only flights but I hope she'll take passengers on board.  

昼食を博多駅南の中華料理店「福林楼」で済ませ、再び滑走路16エンドへ。午後からはキャセイパシフィック航空の貨物便が香港から飛来していたのでわくわくしながら見ていました。詳細は次のブログにて。

Meeting moai statues at Sun Messe Nichinan

After visiting Horikiri Pass, we went to Sun Messe Nichinan (サンメッセ日南), a theme park in Nichinan, Miyazaki. Here is the world's only complete replica of the moai statues on Easter Island. There are ten statues in the park, seven of them are standing on a hill of the Hyuganada Sea and the other three are lying down in the park.

The admission fee is ¥700 per person. It is a little expensive, but worth it. You can take a picture in front of the moai statues, and have some mango flavored soft ice cream🍦 here.

After that we went to the observation deck.
