A flight report on CX713 from Bangkok to Singapore.
バンコクーシンガポール間のCX713便搭乗記です。

The taxi driver will pick me up at 8, but he came here a little late.
8時にタクシーの運転手さんが迎えに来る予定でしたが、予定より少し遅れて来ました。

I arrived at Suvarnabhumi Airport at 9:15 am, 2 hours and half before departure. I didn't have done check-in on the Internet beforehand so I did it at the Cathay Pacific counter. However, I used business class this time, I was able to check in at a business class counter. Of course I got a lounge invitation and a voucher for priority lane. If you have such a pass, your immigration procedures can be done easily.
スワンナプーム空港には出発2時間半前の午前9時15分に到着。事前にネットでチェックインを済ませていなかったので通常のカウンターにてしました。ただ今回はビジネスクラス利用だったので専用カウンターにてチェックインできました。もちろんラウンジと優先レーンの利用券ももらえました。優先レーンだと入出国審査のときに混雑することなくスムーズに通れるのでとても便利です。

Ending immigration procedures at the priority lane, I went to the Cathay Pacific lounge.
優先レーンでの出国審査を終え早速キャセイラウンジへ。

This is an exclusive lounge of Cathay Pacific, it's very quite and calm atmosphere. Besides, the staff was kind enough to me, so someday I'd like to go into their home, Hong Kong.
ここはキャセイの専用ラウンジなのでとても静かで落ち着いた雰囲気があります。それにスタッフも親切だったのでいつかはホームグラウンドである香港のほうも入ってみたいと思います。

A variety of food and beverage is available on this lounge; such as fried rice, dim sum, salad etc for meal, and cake and cookies for dessert. There also have the Noodle Bar which is famous in Hong Kong. But I didn't eat too much before boarding.
食べ物は焼き飯、点心、サラダなどの食事類からクッキーなどのデザート類まで豊富に取り揃えていました。本場香港で有名なザ・ヌードルバーもありました。ただ初ビジネスクラス搭乗ということもあって機内食を楽しみたいので簡単に済ませました。

The time is already eleven o'clock. My flight will be left soon, I was going to the gate in a hurry.
時刻はすでに11時。搭乗時刻が迫ってきたのでゲートへ。

I take the plane to Singapore.
この飛行機に乗ってシンガポールへ向かいます。

Day 3:A day trip to Ayutthaya, the end: visiting Wat Lokayasutharam/3日目:アユタヤ日帰りツアー（終） ワット・ロカヤスタへ

After visiting the Vihara Phra Mongkhon Bophit Temple, I went to my last visiting place, Wat Lokaysutharam. This place is famous for the lying Buddha statue. It's so absolutely huge, with a total length of 29 meters along the canal extending from the Chao Phraya River.
ウィハーン・プラ・モンコン・ボピット寺院を見学後、いよいよ最後の目的地であるワット・ロカヤスタへ。ここにはチャオプラヤー川から延びる運河の草原に全長29メートルもの寝釈迦像が横たわっています。

After that I went down to Bangkok while enjoying the Chao Phraya River boat cruise. I had a lunch on board in buffet style. It's authentic Thai food and it was very delicious.
その後チャオプラヤー川クルーズを満喫しながら再びバンコクへ。船内では昼食のバイキングをいただきました。さすがに本格タイ料理だけあってとても美味しかったです。

When Wat Arun and Wat Phra Kaeo comes into view, the voyage of about three hours is over. I got off the ship and say goodbye to everyone. Then I went to the hotel again by car. I arrived at the hotel around 4:30.
ワット・アルンとワット・プラケオが見えてくると約3時間の船旅も終わりです。船を降りて他のツアー客と別れてから再度車でホテルへ。ホテルへは4時半過ぎに着きました。

Day 3:A day trip to Ayutthaya, part 4, visiting Vihara Phra Mongkhon Bophit Temple/3日目:アユタヤ日帰りツアー（その4） ウィハーン・プラ・モンコン・ボピット寺院へ

After visiting Wat Phra Si Sanphet, I went to the Vihara Phra Mongkhon Bophit Temple located next to the park.
ワット・プラシー・サンペットを見学後、お隣のウィハーン・プラ・モンコン・ボピット寺院へ。赤・白・黄の色とりどりの建物がタイらしさを感じさせてくれます。

The great Buddha hall of Phra Mongkhon Bophit. The golden Buddhist statue, with a height of 17 meters, was made by Rama II in the 15th century and settled in this temple in 1603. It is said to be the biggest Buddha image in Thailand.
礼拝堂の大仏。タイ最大級の仏像で高さ17mの大きな黄金の仏像、プラ・モンコン・ボピットが安置されています。

I saw many Thai people come to pray for their wishes. I felt that they still important to have faith in their daily life.
ここは旅行者だけではなく多くのタイ人がお祈りに来ているのを見かけ、彼らの日常生活において信仰心が篤いなとふと感じました。

And finally I'll head off to Wat Lokayasutharam which famous for the lying Buddha.
そしていよいよ最後の目的地であるワット・ロカヤスタの涅槃像へ。

Day 3:A day trip to Ayutthaya, part 3, visiting Wat Phra Si Sanphet/3日目:アユタヤ日帰りツアー（その3） ワット・プラシー・サンペットへ

After visiting Wat Phra Mahathat, I went to the Ayutthaya Historical Park/Wat Phra Si Sanphet.
ワット・プラ・マハタートを後にワット・プラシー・サンペットへ。

The symbol of the temple is three pagodas lined up in the east and west, each of which is said to have been the remains of King Triokanat between 1448 and 1488 and its prince.
寺院のシンボルは東西に並ぶ３基の仏塔でそれぞれにトライローカナート王（1448－1488年）とその王子らの遺骨が埋められていたと言われています。

After that I went to the Vihara Phra Mongkhon Bophit temple located next to the park.
次はお隣のウィハーン・プラ・モンコン・ボピット寺院へ。

Day 3:A day trip to Ayutthaya, part 2, visiting Wat Phra Mahathat/3日目:アユタヤ日帰りツアー（その2） ワット・プラ・マハタートへ

After visiting Bang Pa In Palace, I went to the ruins of Ayutthaya, the next destination.
バンパイン宮殿を見学後、次の目的地であるアユタヤ遺跡へ。

First I went to Wat Phra Mahathat.
まず最初に訪れたのはワット・プラ・マハタート。

You probably already know about this. This is the world famous cut-off Buddha head. Wat Phra Mahathat was ruined by the attack of Burma/Myanmar army in 1767. They took away only the head of a Buddhist image during the battle. But it was left because of heavy lifting. That's why the Buddha head covered with the roots of linden tree.
これがあの有名な切り落とされた仏頭です。ワット・プラ・マハタートは1767年のビルマ（ミャンマー）軍の攻撃により廃墟となり、その時に切り落とされたものが長い年月を経て樹木に覆われてしまったのでしょう。

I tried walking around the ruins.
遺跡内をぐるっと歩いてみました。

After that I went to the Ayutthaya Historical Park/Wat Phra Si Sanphet.
次はワット・プラシー・サンペットへ。

Day 3:A day trip to Ayutthaya, part 1/3日目:アユタヤ日帰りツアー（その1）

In the morning, I went to Bang Pa In Palace and the ruins of Ayutthaya. Ayutthaya is far away from Bangkok, so I decided to take a bus tour with English speaking guide. I booked through Expedia three days before leaving Japan.
3日目の朝はバンパイン宮殿とアユタヤ遺跡へ行きました。アユタヤはバンコクからかなり遠いのでエクスペディアで手配したバスツアー（英語ガイド）で行くことに。

The driver pick me up in front of the hotel at 7 am. I was headed for the meeting place near flower market.  From here, we went to the Bang Pa In Palace together.
午前7時にホテルへ迎えの車がきました。ひとまず花市場近くの集合場所へ向かい、そこからバスで一斉にバンパイン宮殿へ。

Bang Pa In Palace is a beautiful summer palace of the Ayutthaya dynasty in the sandbank on Chao Phraya River. It was once burnt down in the flight against Burma/Myanmar, but it was revived by Rama IV and V of the Chakri dynasty.
バンパイン宮殿はチャオプラヤー川の中州にある美しい夏の宮殿です。一度はビルマ（現：ミャンマー）との戦いで破壊されたものの、チャクリ王朝のラマ4世と5世によって再興されています。

The Phra Thinang Withun Thasana observatry is a three-story tower built in 1881. From the top of the floor, you can see the beautiful scenery in the rich green garden.
プラ・ティナン・ウィトゥン・タサナー天文台。1881年に建てられた3階建ての塔です。塔の一番上まで上がることができて、そこから緑豊かな園内の風景が見渡せます。

Phra Thinang Wehart Chamrun, also known as the Tianming Palace, is a Chinese style architecture built in 1889. 
プラ・ティナン・ウェハート ・チャルムーン（天明宮殿）。1889年に建てられた中国式の建物です。

Day 2:Visiting The Golden Mount, Bangkok/2日目：バンコクのゴールデンマウンテン訪問記

Next I went to the Golden Mount/Wat Saket. It is an old temple from the Ayutthaya dynasty that lasted from the 14th century until the 18th century. 
次に訪れたのが高台にあるワット・サケット（黄金の丘）です。14世紀から18世紀まで続いたアユタヤ王朝時代からある古い寺院です。

I got off the taxi at the back gate of Wat Saket. Passing through the gate, there is a ticket booth on the right. I bought a 20 Baht "tourist" ticket to go inside.
ワット・サケットの裏門前でタクシーを降り、門をくぐると右手にチケット売り場があります。入場料は観光客で20バーツです。

The little monkeys welcome you to visit. 
かわいいサルのオブジェが観光客を出迎えてくれます。

I have to go up 344 steps of stairs to the top of hill.
ここから344段のらせん階段を登って一路頂上へ。

The road to the top is still ahead.
まだまだ頂上までの道のりは長い。

When I was climbing up the stairs, I'll see the golden pagoda.
階段を登り詰めると仏塔が見えてきます。

The great views of Bangkok looking down from the top is so beautiful.
目の前に360度の大パノラマが広がります。

Day 2:Visiting Wat Pho Temple, Bangkok/2日目：バンコクのワット・ポー寺院訪問記

I stay in Bangkok for 4 days from October 17 to 20 last year. During the stay, I went to some tourist attractions of the Bangkok city center such as Wat Pho Temple and Wat Saket/The Golden Mount.
昨年10月17日から20日までの4日間バンコクに滞在しました。滞在中は観光名所であるワット・ポー寺院とワット・サケット（ゴールデンマウンテン）に行きました。

First I went to the Wat Pho Temple located in the south of the Royal Palace. It is the oldest temple in Bangkok built by King Rama I of Thailand in 1788. 
まず最初に王宮の南隣りにあるワット・ポーへ。1788年にラマ1世によって建てられたバンコクで最も古い寺院です。

Looking at some colorful pagodas in the prescient, I went to the main hall with a sleeping Buddha statue.
色鮮やかな仏塔を見ながら進んでいくと寝釈迦仏像のある本堂へ。

The head of big Buddha is shown as soon as I entered.
入ってすぐに大寝釈迦仏像の頭部が見えてきます。

大寝釈迦仏の全体像。観光客が多すぎて細長いお堂なので全体がうまく取れませんでした。  

Plane spotting at FUK on 3 January 2018/2018年1月3日福岡空港での飛行機たち

On Wednesday, I went to the airport to see Citilink's chartered flight from Denpasar in the evening. Citilink, a budget airline of Indonesia which is wholly owned by Garuda Indonesia, is operated two way flights between Fukuoka and Indonesia during the Japanese new year holidays, the outbound flight is from Jakarta and the return flight is Denpasar in Bali. In addition, there are the return flights of Thai Airways from Phuket and of Philippine Airlines from Cebu. Both are also charter flights during new years. 
水曜日（3日）は昼から飛行機を見に行きました。この日は12月30日にデンパサールに向けて出発したガルーダ・インドネシア航空のLCC、シティリンク（リンク先英語）の年末年始チャーターの戻り便が3時ごろに飛来することをネットで知ってぜひカメラに収めようと思い2時ごろに家を出て空港へ。ただ予定より2時間遅れでやってきたので行く前にネットなどで再度確認しなければならないことを改めて実感しました。さらにその前後には同じ日に出発したタイ国際航空のプーケット便やフィリピン航空のセブ便のチャーターの戻り便も飛来してきました。

At 4:54 pm, a Citilink flight QG9506 from Denpasar was landing on Rwy 34. It was 2 hours behind schedule, so I was taken before sunset.
午後4時54分にシティリンクのデンパサール発QG9506便が滑走路34に着陸。予定より2時間遅れだったので日暮れ前の撮影となってしまいましたが、黄昏に染まりながらの着陸には風情があります。

At 5:15 pm, a Thai Airways flight TG8106 from Phuket was landing. It's rare to see a Thai Airways plane landing in the dusk because the daily flight from Bangkok is coming in the morning.
午後5時15分にタイ国際航空のプーケット発TG8106便が着陸。バンコクからの定期便だと朝方に到着するので、夕闇の中で着陸するTGの機体を見れるのは一段と格別です。

At 5:22 pm, a Hong Kong Express flight UO0638 from Hong Kong was landing. There is a trend of increase tourists from Hong Kong, so that the airline is using the A321s to Fukuoka everyday.
午後5時22分に香港エクスプレス航空の香港発UO0638便が着陸。最近の利用客数増加で増便ならびに機材をA321型機に変更し旅行客の取り込みを図っているようです。

One minute after, an Air Macau flight NX805 to Macau was taking off.
1分後にマカオ航空のマカオ行きNX805便が離陸。

The last one is a Philippine Airlines A321 plane. The plane was coming from Cebu on a chartered flight at about 4:30, but I forgot to take a picture. I only took a picture of the return flight to Manila after one hour.
最後にフィリピン航空のA321型機をUPします。当機は4時半ごろにセブからのチャーター便で来ていましたが、写真を撮り忘れたので1時間後にフェリー便（回送）で折り返しマニラに戻るところをカメラに収めました。

Topics on airlines in Fukuoka

A lovely happy new year to everyone.

I want to write about the recent trends of airline companies in Fukuoka.

You already know, a Cathay Pacific flight which was connected between Fukuoka and Hong Kong via Taipei for more than 50 years, handed over to its sister company Cathay Dragon and suspended on October 29 last year. 

But I have good news. Air Asia X, Malaysia's low-cost carrier, has applied for the Kuala Lumpur - Fukuoka route in last November. It will be coming soon, on February 18 or later.
