Visiting Kashii-gu Shrine, Fukuoka

On February 17, we made a short trip to Kashii-gu (香椎宮), a Shinto shrine in Higashi-ku, Fukuoka. It is dedicated to Emperor Chuai and Empress Jingu

A big ceder tree called Aya-sugi (綾杉) in the garden. It is said to have planted by Empress Jingu during the legendary military invasion of Korea in the 3rd century.
Let's go up stairs to the main shrine.
The main shrine is the only architectural style of Kashii-zukuri that is unique in Japan. It has been designated as the important cultural properties of Japan by the government.
When we got out of the shrine, there's an old palace. It was said to be enshrined to Emperor Chuai and his wife, Empress Jingu.
 The spring has coming soon..
