Heiwadai Tower or "Peace Tower" (also known as the Hakkō ichiu
monument), in the expansive Heiwadai park, is a must-see for tourists.
Originally the "Tower of the Emperor," symbolizing Japanese imperial
expansion, it was renamed for peace after the events of World War II.Next to Heiwadai Tower, there is a Haniwa sculpture figures in garden. The garden is home to a collection of nearly 400 burial statues that include not just those of warriors, but also of animals, dancers, houses, boats and other influential entities. It was a practice during the rule of the Kofun dynasty to create clay statues around the burial grounds of the dead.
