Visiting Kurosaki Church in Sotome, Nagasaki

After walking around the Shitsu Village, we went down south to see the Catholic Kurosaki Church⛪. Although the church is not a World Heritage site, but Father Marc Marie de Rotz who is closely related with the Sotome area was involved in the construction plan. The construction of the cathedral was decided at the current location in 1897. The work was started two years later but it was stopped due to financial difficulties.

The building of the church was completed in 1920, twenty-three years after finishing his work.
The door was not open so we decided to go to another place, the Urakami Cathedral.
The statue of Virgin Mary. The detailed history of Kurosaki Church is written below the statue.
