Additional comments for Airline comparison: Cathay Pacific vs Dragon Air/補記：キャセイパシフィックとドラゴン航空の比較

This is a supplementary information on my blog updated on 2 January.
去る1月2日にUPしたブログの補足事項です。

=Introduction/最初に=

Dragon Air still keeps its own unique way even after the airline was acquired by Cathay Pacific, the parent company, in 2006. Let us an example. The company logo in the aircraft is also written in Chinese, and a catering company in their home, Hong Kong International Airport is a Lufthansa system of LSG Sky Chefs, not their own system. In addition, handset can be used until arrive because it is not collected before landing.

ドラゴン航空は2006年に親会社であるキャセイパシフィック航空の買収後も未だに独自な点が残っています。例として挙げてみましょう。機体などのロゴに中国語表記がされていることやホームグラウンドである香港国際空港のケータリングは親会社ではなくルフトハンザ系のLSGスカイシェフとなっています。 さらにハンドセットは着陸態勢に入る前に改修されないので到着まで使うことができます。

=Check-in/チェックイン=

At Incheon Airport, check-in procedure is usually done at the counter H. Since there's no transit counter of that airline, you must go to the boarding gate for transfer procedure. However, if you're first and business class passengers, your check-in will be done at the Cathay Pacific lounge located in the concourse terminal. It is also available for economy class passengers to check in at the lounge. I did it there last time. Be careful, check-in counter at Hong Kong will be different in the two companies. Don’t mistake the place.

仁川空港でのチェックインは基本的にHカウンターにて行います。当空港にはキャセイの乗り継ぎカウンターがないので乗り継ぎであれば搭乗ゲートにて手続きしなければなりません。ただしファーストクラスおよびビジネスクラス利用であればコンコースにあるキャセイラウンジですることも可能です。もし時間に余裕があればエコノミークラス利用でもチェックイン可能なのでぜひ行ってみてください。香港のカウンターはキャセイとドラゴンでは異なるので要注意です。

=Frequent flyer programs/マイル=

Cathay Pacific has its own frequent flyer program, Asia Miles. Since the airline is a member of One world alliance, it can also be added to frequent flyer programs of each member. I'm a member of Asia Miles since October 2004.

キャセイパシフィック航空は独自のマイレージプログラムであるアジア・マイルがありますが同社はワンワールドメンバーなので加盟各社での相互加算も可能です。僕は2004年10月からアジア・マイルの会員です。

My next travel plan to Seoul and Taiwan in April

I've decided to go to Seoul and Taiwan from April 19 to 26. I want to avoid the annoyance of loud speech on the unified local election which will be held twice on April, especially the second one on the 26th, so I had planned to go abroad during the campaign period. The free round-trip ticket between Seoul to Taipei is required 25,000 miles, I have 21,853 miles of Kris Flyer now. In that case, I can get a free ticket if I pay 160 USD more. I had already booked my flights and paid additional costs, such as taxes, fees and surcharges. Of course, I have to make a connection flight to Seoul, so I bought a separate air ticket from Asiana Airlines.

Schedules are as follows.

• April 18 OZ135 Fukuoka 19:20 - Seoul Incheon 20:40
• April 19 OZ711 Seoul Incheon 10:10 - Taipei 11:40
• April 24 BR160 Taipei 15:15 - Seoul Incheon 18:45
• April 26 OZ136 Seoul Incheon 17:00 - Fukuoka 18:20

I had tried to book a Thai Airways flight, but it was fully booked. They can be arranged both Asiana and EVA Air, and an EVA Air flight is only available from Taipei on the 24th. I know EVA will be used Kitty Jet for their Incheon route, I booked flight of the day immediately.

Since Asiana has no connecting flight during the day, therefore I have to make a stopover both at Incheon. I had decided to stay a transit hotel one night at the airport because I don't want to hurry in the morning.

Where will I go there in Taiwan? I really want to go Tainan, a city where traditional and modern architecture coexist, e.g. Confucius temple, and Anping Fort, the oldest castle in Taiwan built by Dutch in 1624, has been used as the center of administration and trade during the colonial era. I'll also visit to Kaohsiung and Taipei, the capital city of Taiwan. In Korea, I want to take pictures of planes at Incheon International Airport sky deck in the evening. Maybe I stroll the Bukchon area where traditional Korean style houses still left on the street corner.

I'm now thinking about my travel plan, so I'll tell you about it later.

Dinner at Nagasaki's China Town

After finished sightseeing all the day, so we want to have dinner at China Town. We had decided to go our favorite place, the Kairakuen Restaurant.

We ordered stir-fried noodles in Nagasaki style, fried rice, fried bok choy and crispy fried chicken with sour lemon sauce. They served fried noodles first, then fried rice, bok choy and fried chicken at the end.

I love fried rice and fried noodles, so we were divived them into half. My mom got only half and I ate up all.

I'm uploading two more pictures of planes taken after landing and takeoff of an EVA Air flight.
エバー航空の離着陸後に撮影した2機をUPします。

The first one is an All Nippon Airways Boeing 777-200 Star Alliance livery. The aircraft registration number JA711A is a special painted plane, it has been used for flight NH250 to Tokyo Haneda. The time is 11:18 am local time, 13 minutes after EVA Air flight was touched down.
最初に全日空のB777-200スターアライアンス塗装機をUPします。機体番号はJA711Aでした。当機は東京羽田行きANA250便で午前11時18分に離陸しています。

The next one is a diverted Air China plane. The plane was coming at about 11:30 am. There's no Air China flight in the morning, so I called to the airport's information desk. They said "We don't have any chartered flight today". Maybe I guess it is en emergency landing.
次に中国国際航空の不時着機をUPします。当機は午前11時30分ごろに来ていました。午前発の同社便がないので案内所に問い合わせてみても「今日のチャーター便はない」とのこと。おそらく緊急着陸ではないかと思います。

The return flight was taking off at 12:32 pm, shortly after the EVA Air plane flying away.
飛行機はエバー航空離陸直後の午後12時32分に飛び立ちました。

EVA Air's Star Alliance livery flying to Fukuoka today/エバー航空のスターアライアンス塗装機が福岡へ飛来！

I got a lucky thing at the airport today. Today's EVA Air flight scheduled to be sent on Boeing 777-300ER, so I want to see the B777s again. When the plane was landing, it was coming to a Star Alliance livery! I was amazed to see EVA's special livery.
今日エバー航空のB777-300ERのスターアライアンス特別塗装機（B-16701）が飛来しました。今日の便は当初からB777機で飛来する予定となっていたので見に行ったのですが飛行機が着陸した瞬間になんとスターアライアンス塗装機で来ていたのでわくわくしながら見ていました。

A flight from Taipei arrived little early, at 11:05 am local time.
台北からの便は多少早めの午前11時05分に到着。

One hour later, the plane went back to Taipei.
1時間後飛行機は折り返し台北へ。
