Flight experience: Boarding Thai Airways between Fukuoka, Bangkok and Singapore in August 2006/2006年8月タイ国際航空福岡、バンコク、シンガポール間搭乗記

I took between Fukuoka-Bangkok-Singapore in August 2006. Boarding flights are as follows:
2006年8月福岡ーバンコクーシンガポールで利用しました。搭乗した便は次の通りです。

• 15 August/8月15日: TG649 FUK - BKK
• 18 August/8月18日: TG401 BKK - SIN
• 20 August/8月20日: TG410 SIN - BKK
• 21 August/8月21日: TG648 BKK - FUK

FUK: Fukuoka/福岡
BKK: *Bangkok (Don Muang)/バンコク（ドン・ムアン）
SIN: Singapore (Changi)/シンガポール（チャンギ）

*Note: I landed at Don Muang Airport which is the old airport in Bangkok because Suvarnabhumi Airport has not been opened yet at that time.

==In-flight/機内==
All flights were fully booked. At that time, there's no personal monitor for economy class. Food is so-so. There is a Japanese food on Fukuoka route. I ate Chicken Teriyaki assorted with rice outward journey and grilled salmon with rice return. Crews are very friendly. They welcome to wai, a traditional greeting of Thailand when boarding. It seems to have turned off the audio power on return flight from Bangkok, so I ask a young Stewart. He turned on it immediately.
搭乗した便すべて満席でした。その当時エコノミークラスには個人テレビがありませんでした。食事はまあまあで福岡便には和食もあったので行きは照り焼きチキンのご飯和え、帰りは鮭の焼き魚のご飯和えにしました。乗務員の方々はとても親切でした。搭乗すると伝統的なあいさつであるワイで迎えてくれます。バンコクからの帰国便でオーディオの電源が入っていなかったのでたまたま側を通った若い男性乗務員にお願いするとすぐにつけてくれました。

==Check-in/チェックイン==
At Fukuoka Airport, all check-in procedure is done at Japan Airlines (JAL) counter. JAL staff is very kind and polite. I was so impressed that the attentive "Japanese-style" service when check-in is done at a business class counter. A ground staff at Bangkok was no kind, but was so friendly at Singapore. She told me "Thank you" in Japanese! I still remember this person.
福岡空港でのチェックイン手続きはJALカウンターにて行います。JALスタッフは親切丁寧でそのときはビジネスクラスカウンターでチェックインしてもらいさすが日本的なきめ細やかなサービスだなと感心しました。バンコクの地上職員は不親切でしたがシンガポールではとても親切な対応でした。その女性の方はとても親切で日本語で”ありがとう”と言ってくれました。今でも心に残っています。

==Frequent flyer programs/マイル==
Thai Airways has its own frequent flyer program, Royal Orchid Plus. Since the airline is a member of Star Alliance, it can also be added to frequent flyer programs of each member. I have a Kris flyer, and joined this program in May 2006. Why did I join the Kris flyer? Because I want to earn miles for this flight.
タイ国際航空は独自のマイレージプログラムであるロイヤルオーキッドプラスがありますが同社はスターアライアンスメンバーなので加盟各社マイレージプログラムでの相互加算も可能です。僕は2006年5月クリスフライヤーに入会し持っています。なぜクリスフライヤーに入会したのかというとこのフライトのマイルを加算したかったからです。
