Cathay Dragon is finally closed..

On Wednesday, the Cathay Pacific group, a Hong Kong based airline, announced that its sister company Cathay Dragon (KA/HDA) will be suspended all routes on the same day. Due to the effects of new coronavirus, aka. COVID-19, which required a fundamental restructuring of business structure, the Group's operations will be consolidated into Cathay Pacific (CX/CPA) and its affiliated LCC business Hong Kong Express (UO/HKE). According to media, it is reported that most of the Cathay Dragon operated routes will be taken over by both companies.

Cathay Dragon, formerly known as Dragon Air, has been flying to Fukuoka since October 2007, and has continued to operate daily until suspended due to the pandemic. After the withdrawal of Cathay Pacific flights from Fukuoka in October 2017, they really improved their in-flight service such as introduction of a330s into the service. Although passenger flights have been suspended since this spring but sometimes she was coming here on cargo flights. The photo above is taken in May 2017 five months ago before CX flights to Fukuoka stopped.

Until now I could see many UO flights in Fukuoka because of cheap. Personally I like Cathay's smart and friendly service, so I want to see the CX plane again.
