On Monday we had decided to take a drive to see iris and hydrangea in bloom at Dazaifu Tenmangu, a Shinto shrine in Dazaifu, Fukuoka. The shrine's annual flowers⚘ event will be held in June, with 55 species, of 30000 pieces of irises has been planted.

Iris blossoms in the garden. The blossoms are almost gone, but I could see some flowers still life.
More hydrangea blooms around the Shinji-ike pond. There are three red arch bridges🌉 called Taiko-bashi (太鼓橋) on the pond. By crossing the bridge, you'll get to the shrine of learning.

Seeing iris festival at Maizuru Park Flower Garden
On June 7, I went to Maizuru Park by bicycle🚲. When I looked up some info on iris festival in Fukuoka, the castle's Japanese water iris (iris ensata) are starting to bloom in late May. The best time to see the flowers is around the beginning of June.
