My travel schedule in November

I've decided to go traveling abroad in November. I'll go to Seoul, Taiwan and Hong Kong for 7 days from November 18 to 24. I bought an upgradeable ticket from Seoul on Monday because I want to use a mileage upgrade on Cathay Pacific. The price is 808,600 KRW (=about 80,356 Yen) including all taxes, fees and surcharges. Of course, they sell ultra cheap tickets around W530000, but it cannot upgrade to premium seats. Same as the last year, I have to make a connection between Fukuoka and Seoul. This time I fly by Korean Air. I take on Korean Air in this section since April 2007.

Flights are as follows:

• November 20 CX494 HKG 10:35 - TPE 12:15
• November 22 CX420 TPE 17:10 - ICN 20:35

The first day, I take Korean Air flight to Seoul, then take a Cathay Pacific flight to Hong Kong. The transit time at Incheon is 2 hours and 40 minutes, so it has a plenty of time to change planes. I make a stopover for 2 nights in Hong Kong. On day 3, I'll use miles to upgrade a seat to Taipei. I don't decide what to do in Taipei yet, maybe later. After spending 2 days in Taipei, it's scheduled to return to Seoul. I only have one day in Seoul, therefore I really want to visit to Samcheong-dong (삼청동), a place where traditional and modern architecture coexist. I also try to eat waffles in Gangnam's fashonable street, called Apgujeong (압구정).

I saw the Yamakasa race floats in different places

Last Saturday, I made a bicycle trip to see the Yamakasa (山笠) race floats in Tenjin (天神) and Kamikawabata-dori (上川端通) shopping arcade. Yamakasa is an annual summer festival held from July 1 to 15 by Kushida Shrine in Fukuoka. 

First, I stopped at Shintencho (新天町) shopping arcade to see the fifteenth race float located in Tenjin, the busiest downtown in Fukuoka. It is standing in the middle of the arcade next to a clock tower, so you can have a close look at it.

Next, I went to Kamikawabata-dori shopping arcade, a covered walkway on the way to Canal City Hakata from Nakasu-Kawabata subway station. There is two the eighth Yamakasa floats in the same place. I took a picture of the one in front of ABC flower shop.

The decoration of floats are shown in different characters. The picture below is Hanasaka Jiisan (花咲じいさん) or Hanasaka-Jii (花咲爺), a Japanese fork tale. On the opposite side, it is appeared Funa Benkei (船弁慶), a Kabuki play starred by Ichikawa Danjuro IX in 1886 (see the photo above).

I took a couple of pictures of Skymark A330-300s taking off on Rwy 16R at 7 pm. This flight is BC 22 to Tokyo Haneda, depart from Fukuoka at 6:45 pm and arrive at Haneda at 8:20 pm.
午後7時に滑走路16Rから離陸するスカイマークのA330-300機を2枚撮影しました。当便はSKY22便で福岡発午後6時45分で羽田着午後8時20分です。

Plane spotting at FUK in the evening of Monday/月曜の夕方福岡空港にて飛行機観察

I took some pictures of landing planes in one hour between 5:30 and 6:30 pm. In this time, many international flights coming into Fukuoka. A Delta Airlines from Hawaii and short haul routes such as Korea, China, Hong Kong and Taiwan.
午後5時30分から6時30分の1時間に着陸する飛行機を撮影しました。この時間帯にはハワイからのデルタ航空および近距離国際線（韓国、中国、香港、台湾）から来る便が集中しています。

The Delta Airlines flight had already arrived this day.
この日デルタ航空はすでに到着済みでした。

• At 5:32 pm, a China Airlines Airbus a330-300 on CI116 from Taipei is landing./午後5時32分：チャイナエアラインの台北発CI116便（A330-300機）。

The afternoon flights are mainly used on Boeing 737s. But they make the aircraft changes to A330s and A340s often.
午後便は主にB737機で飛来していますが時々A330/340の大型機が入るようです。

• At 5:35 pm, a Jetstar Japan Airbus a320-200 on GK509 from Tokyo Narita is landing./午後5時35分：ジェットスター・ジャパンの東京成田発GK509便（A320-200機）。

• One minute after, a Hong Kong Express Airways Airbus a320-200 on UO636 from Hong Kong was landing./1分後香港エクスプレスの香港発UO636便（A320-200機）が着陸。

Hong Kong Express, the hongkongese based low-cost carrier, began operating on 10 April.
4月10日から就航したLCC香港エクスプレス。

• The last flight of a Hawaiian Airlines HA453 from Honolulu was landing at 5:42 pm./午後5時42分にハワイアン航空のホノルル発最終フライトであるHA453便が着陸。

• At 5:48 pm, a China Eastern Airlines Boeing 737-800 on MU5087 from Shanghai was landing./午後5時48分：中国東方航空の上海発MU5087便（B737-800機）。

The airline has increased the number of flights on their Fukuoka - Shanghai route from their current 2 flights per day to 3 flights daily from 30 March.
3月30日から同社は福岡ー上海線をこれまでの1日2便から1日3便に増便しました。

• At 6:04 pm, a Skymark Airlines Airbus a330-300 on BC 19 from Tokyo Haneda was landing./午後6時04分：スカイマークの東京羽田発BC19便が着陸（A330-300機）。

Skymark is the first introduction of A330s in the Japan Market and start flying on 14 June.
スカイマークは国内市場で初めてA330機を投入し6月14日から運航開始しました。

• At 6:08 pm, an Asiana Airlines Airbus a321-200 on OZ136 from Seoul is landing./午後6時08分：アシアナ航空のソウル発OZ136便が着陸（A321-200機）。

Say goodbye to the Hawaiian Airlines flight to Fukuoka/ハワイアン航空福岡線のさよならフライト

As I mentioned yesterday, I took a picture of the Hawaiian Airlines last flight to Fukuoka today. The plane was landing at 5:41 pm on Rwy 16R.
今日ハワイアン航空の福岡線最後のフライトを撮影しに行きました。当機は午後5時41分に滑走路16Rへ着陸しました。

The plane arrived at Gate 57. It made a row of five international carriers at the international terminal. From left, two Boeing 767-300ERs of Hawaiian and Delta Airlines. Both from Honolulu. And three Korean airliners in the center picture, Korean Air Boeing 737-900 and Air Pusan Airbus a320-200 from Busan, and Asiana Airlines Airbus a321-200 from Seoul in foreground.   
飛行機は57番ゲートに到着。左からハワイアン、デルタ航空（ともにホノルル発）の米系2社、真ん中には韓国系3社、釜山発大韓航空B737-900機、エアプサンA320-200機、ソウル発アシアナ航空A321-200機の計5機が国際線ターミナルに並んでいます。

The plane will be back on flight HA454 to Honolulu. The departure time is nine, it's still dark. I can't take a nice picture. So I don't want to see the farewell flight and went back to my home.
飛行機は午後9時発のHA454便でホノルルに戻るようです。暗くて写真撮影がよくできないのでラストシーンを見ずに帰りました。
